ABOUT REV SHUNIE REID

Rev Shunie Reid (Pastor Shaun) was born in Kingston Jamaica. She attended St. Jude’s primary and started at the prestigious Ardenne High at the tender age of 11 where she obtained her a high school diploma and excellent grades. She furthered her education at West Avenue Institute, a private High school in Jamaica. Pastor Shaun originally dreamed of becoming a Registered Nurse, obtaining her license from University Hospital of the West Indies, Kingston Jamaica, School of Nursing, and settling into the Pediatrics department.

She continued her work in neonatology and later obtained her midwifery license. She moved to Bermuda in 1996 and served on the Bermuda Hospitals Board for 13 ½ years, guiding the pediatrics and nursing department, and eventually serving as a Supervising RN.Her studies deepened her knowledge of Sexual Assault Response Team ( S.A.R.T.) nursing, asthma education, crisis intervention, and psychology. She is highly sympathetic to the extreme, traumatic issues facing children and youths.

Rev Shunie Reid has been a lifelong reader, visiting the Kingston library as a child. Her early exposure to religion included Catholic, Anglican and later the Apostolic faith, in which she was baptized during first year of Nursing school. She enjoyed fellowship with the Tri-Campus Apostolic group, which later matriculated into Universities and Colleges Apostolic Ministries (U.C.A.M), where she established a Poetry and Drama Ministry prior to leaving the island. She has always been known and sought after for her winning smile, warm heart, and hospitality, and is well-respected by her peers and family members.

Rev Shunie Reid has an unending love for children, and has been a guardian and mentor, both locally and internationally. Her love for children motivated her International Outreach Ministries since September 2006, mainly using her own resources to fund projects. She started funding for the Kingdom Faith Foundation RMC Vocational Training & Empowerment Center in Monrovia, Liberia, with her own out-of-pocket funds.

Rev Shunie Reid places emphasis on all aspects of spirituality, physical, emotional and behavioral health in all age groups. She is also enthusiastic about psychosocial issues affecting women and founded HOTAP Ministries International as a medium to reach diverse nations. When she is not leading our ministry in prayer or reflection, Pastor Shaun’s favorite hobbies include cooking, motivational speaking, travelling, bowling, writing, and teaching, among others. Her dream is to see women more supportive of each other and connected by a positive mission.
